Omuraliev Highlights Cultural Collaboration within Turkic World
Addressing guests at a reception organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States to commemorate the Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis Worldwide, Omuraliev described the yearly occasion as a symbol recalling the “unity, resilience, and strong sense of identity” that connect Azerbaijanis across the globe.
"Within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, we attach special importance to cooperation with diaspora communities. Diasporas serve as natural bridges between societies, economies and cultures," he stated.
He explained that the OTS is actively pursuing deeper coordination among Turkic diasporas by means of discussion forums and collaborative projects, particularly initiatives designed to highlight cultural legacy and enhance people-to-people engagement in various regions, including the United States.
As part of these initiatives, Omuraliev pointed out that the OTS has set up a collaborative platform uniting national institutions responsible for diaspora-related affairs, an effort he said has already delivered tangible outcomes.
He further revealed that a Diaspora Capacity-Building Training Program introduced by the organization may conduct its next session in the US next year.
Omuraliev also commended Azerbaijan’s leading position within the OTS, noting that the country currently holds the chairperson-in-office role.
He stressed that Azerbaijan has been instrumental in fostering unity and actionable cooperation throughout the Turkic world, while advancing a common vision centered on solidarity, connectivity, and shared prosperity.
